musiKids offers 5 distinct programs:

Each of which has classes for each age group |
 |
“Music & Movement” classes follow traditional music class format - circle time, rhyme time, use of rhythm instruments, movement time, quiet time, and other musical activities to cultivate a child’s innate musical intelligence. Children use instruments with music and movement to internalize fundamental musical concepts. Each class accommodates children at different levels and speeds. As children get older, classes introduce musical role playing, more complex vocalizing, rhythm games, circle games, call and response and instruments to dramatize songs.
Our classes are special in the material we present and the way we present it. Our teachers all come from dramatic and musical background and we have a dynamic, energetic, interactive approach that engages both the children and adults.

Nwbrn-1 yr, 45 minutes musiKids has developed a great class for new parents and infants to discover "music as play." The curriculum emphasizes intimacy between parent and child and learning new songs, rhymes, games and musical activities to help you nurture your baby’s innate musical intelligence at home. Our musical activities help the baby gain a sense of security, enhanced attention span and body orientation. A great way to meet new people. Special classes can be organized for PACE or play groups.

8-15 mths, 45 minutes Babies love to rock, bounce, sway, listen and look, and musikids classes provide a warm and melodic environment in which they can do all! We introduce the class to very basic early childhood music education concepts, like "steady beat," loud/soft, fast/slow and other distinctions by singing, rhyming, imitating, clapping, bouncing, tapping, using small instruments, listening to music, dancing, moving, playing with puppets and more. The class allows for children at different stages to participate at their own level and speed. As toddlers approach 15 months, they may be physically, but not cognitively, ready to join the older class. Placement is an individual decision based on your child’s need, so please call us if you have specific questions. |

16-24 mths, 45 minutes This class is a continuation Eighth Notes, with more emphasis on movement and interaction due to better physical coordination and desire to move, move, move. We explore rhythm, pitch, dynamics and movement through singing, creative play, instruments, call and response, rhythm games, dancing and many musical and movement activities that everyone enjoys. |

2-4 yrs, 45 minutes Children have a good musical sense both vocally and rhythmically. Some can sing on pitch, use their own voices to illustrate dynamics and tempo, and all are eager to use the instruments. We introduce musical role playing, more complex vocalizing and rhythm games, opportunity to play instruments and use them to dramatize songs, dancing, circle games, and call and response, and more. |

3-4 yrs, 45 minutes **This is a drop-off class. Parents need not participate in the entire class, depending on their child's comfort level** Our newest offering is designed to bridge the gap between the adult-supervised class and a drop-off class. We allow adult involvement until your child is comfortable, and then you leave, easing the way towards separation. During class, we will employ basic and essential musical terms and concepts while singing, playing instruments, telling stories, doing rhythm games, and learning simple dances. Your child will be encouraged to use his/her imagination as we come up with ways of using the body to create sound and rhythm, as well as image. We will use innovative and creative activities to create a dynamic, multi-layered approach to learning about, and making, music.

This 45 minute Drop Off class will teach creative movement along with the basics of ballet and tap to start your little one off on her musical theater career. Like our other "drop-off" classes, this class is designed so that parents can stay until their child is comfortable on their own. Students must supply basic tap and ballet shoes. |
